Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says there’s a need to improve the health care facilities in and around Dominica.
Prime Minister Skerrit told Discoveries that the construction of a state-of-the-art hospital facility is the first step towards improving the countries health care system.
“In the area of healthcare we need to see linkages to the Portsmouth, Marigot and Grandbay hospitals. All these hospitals need to be improved to a much higher standard that they are right now,” he said.
Skerrit also noted that government also wants more local professionals to be involved in the healthcare process.
“Not only and the medial level but also at the consultant level so that we can have more of the medical consultants coming from Dominica. We will also have greater access to them,” he said.
