Using the CCFP network to generate information on Caribbean males in primary care

Hi,

An idea to move CAPCRG forward using our regional network of FPs:

Masculinity and high risk behaviour- this would involve us using 2 well recognised scale for measuring masculinity and high risk behaviour among consecutive males attending our practices. My hypothesis is that males who attend FPs are generally mid-income and family oriented,  and more likely to be androgynous (having both masculine and femininie characteristcs) and less likely to be involved in high risk behaviour. This would be a unique study looking at males in a primary care setting. I have access to both scales and have used it a few years ago in a preliminary student project. Excerpts are available in the recently published book on psychosocial issues.

Let me have your thoughts

CAPCRG-Research topic- Males in our practices

Hi Rohan

Interesting topic.

I would like to learn more about it and how to start.

Do we all have to be involved at the same time or can each of us begin to gather information as soonas we are sure how to use the questionnairre?

Please tell me more

Rohan- Research topic- Males in the Caribbean

Hi Rohan

Heard nothing more from you about this

Is there a questionnaire or a protocol that we can circulate to the members in the territories so that we can send back data to you?

Please advise
