In my practice I have diagnosed only 2 or 3 patients over the last 5 years. I have seen only a handful of HIV patients in the last 10 years. On the other hand I treat about 3 diabetics and maybe 7 hypertensives every day. I really think the other chronic diseases have been unfairly managed as a result. We need to refocus and look at what is the chief cause of death in our populations.
