CCFP Membership/Member types post the Nassau Declaration (2006)

I have just read the section "Member types" under "Membership"  on the website and I am very upset.

I am a family practitioner of 40 years; I joined the College as a Founding member in 1987 and  was admitted as an "Active Member" according to the then By-Laws.

I have remained faithful and financial since, but have elected not to do either the old DM or the new Postgrad Diploma, MSc or DM- I am still wondering whether to embark on a Research project on my own because I know I will not have the time to do what I really want to do so I am hoping perhaps to piggy back on a group project or just to rest because I am tired of academia.

I have been involved in teaching and mentoring medical students since the start of my local Med School, having successfully lobbied with my University for Family Practitioners to be included on staff  as Associate Lecturers;  have been involved in the past in retreats to discuss curriculum changes, been an examiner for OSCE practice sessions with med students, been chosen by my University to be on the Oversight Ctee for the postgrad FP programme; been chosen by my University and PAHO to serve on the committees that gave birth to both CAMC and CAAM-HP

But my College tells me now that I do not any longer fit their criteria for "Active Membership"

Paradoxically, I am a Fellow of the College.

Just what are you doing to us the "Grandparents" of this organisation?

Active membership

The Nassau Declaration clearly states that all doctors who are active members by virtue of completing 150 hoursevery3 years will be "grandfathered" under the new membership  types. Said another way: all previous active members will retain their membership by maintaining the 150 hour CME credits per 3 years!.

Well if this is so this should be reflected on the Membership page on the website

This is my contention- the information given seems to exclude the "grandparents"
