News from St. Vincent & the Grenadines

All  of  us by now must be aware of the Pink Ribbon that reminds us of our sisters (and occasionally brothers) who  have had to fight the scourge of Breast Cancer and some of us may have remembered to click on the Pink Ribbon  that helps to finance Free Mammograms  for minority groups in the USA.

Some of us even remember to wear our Pink Ribbon side by side with the Red Ribbon of HIV_AIDS  but  how many of us are as innovative as our redoubtable “Ros” in the island of St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

In October 2009, Dr. Rosalind Ambrose, President of the St. Vincent & the Grenadines Medical Association (SVGMA), Radiologist ,  Past President of the Caribbean Association of Radiologists and Radiographers and a foundation member of the SVG Chapter of the Caribbean College of Family Physicians and her colleagues in the SVG MA spearheaded an unusual activity to mark Breast Awareness Month.

It was innovative enough to be published in the Medical Protection Society January 2010 Journal- Casebook for the Caribbean and Bermuda and we are privileged to share it with you. (photo courtesy of MPS casebook).
